Robert Nesta Marley

Now I want to tell you about the ‘legend of reggae music’ Robert Nesta Marley, better known as Bob Marley. Marley was born on February 6, 1945, in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica. In 1963, Marley started his musical experimentation in ska and gravitated towards reggae as the music evolved, playing, teaching and singing for a long period in the 1970's and 1980's. Marley is perhaps best-known for work with his reggae group 'The Wailers', which included two other celebrated reggae musicians, Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh. The Wailers' 1974 album Burnin contained "I Shot The Sheriff" and "Get Up, Stand Up," both of which gathered cult followings in both the US and Europe. The same year, the Wailers broke up to pursue solo careers. At this point, Marley had made a full transition from ska and rocksteady to a new style, which would forever be called reggae. He is even recognized as the most successful reggae musician of all time. Bob Marley past away on May 11, 1981 because of his cancer.

The following timeline will gives you information about Kurt Cobain life’s and his band ‘Nirvana’.

 Ø Parents Donald and Wendy Cobain.

 Ø Attended Robert Gray Kindergarten.

 Ø Attended Aberdeen Junior High School.

 Ø In Year 8 he transferred to Miller Junior High School.

 Ø In 1983 transferred to Aberdeen High School.

 Ø Chris Novoselic and Kurt meet at Aberdeen High School.

 Ø In 1986 Kurt recorded fortrack demo 'fecal matter' with Chris on bass and Aaron Burkhart on drums.

Kurt Donald Cobain Biography

    For my first post I want to tell you about the troubled genius lead singer and primary songwriter of the grunge band Nirvana. Kurt Cobain was born on February 20 1967, in Aberdeen, Seattle. Kurt and his family lived in Hoquiam, a small town 140 km south-west of Seattle for the first few months of his life then later moved back to Aberdeen, where he had a happy childhood until his parents divorced. The divorce left Kurt's outlook on the world forever scarred. He became withdrawn and anti-social. He was constantly placed with one relative to the next, living with friends, and at times even homeless. Kurt was not the most popular person in high school as he was in public school. In 1985 Kurt left Aberdeen for Olympia where he formed the Grunge band Nirvana in 1986 with Chris Novoselic and Dave Grohl. Led by Cobain’s songwriting, singing and lead guitar, Nirvana’s second album Nevermind hit the top of the charts in 1991, making the band superstars and netting them truckloads of money. But Cobain, a quiet, reclusive fellow, never enjoyed the limelight of celebrity. Nirvana’s mega hit single, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” is considered one of the greatest rock tunes of all time.  As Nirvana gained popularity, Cobain started using heroin in the early 1990's. He may have started taking heroin to relieve pain from chronic back and stomach trouble. Cobain said his stomach pain was so bad at times that he sometimes considered committing suicide. In March of 1994 Cobain attempted suicide by gobbling painkillers washed down with champagne. But on April 5, 1994 Kurt Cobain succeeded in ending his life with a shotgun blast to the head. Near him laid a suicide note written in red ink.

They say Cobain couldn’t have used the shotgun to shoot himself because he had a large amount of heroin in his system. But I think it's fair to say his legend will live forever..
